  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and prick the bottom with a fork.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and bourbon until combined.
  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the filling is set.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool.
  9. Sprinkle granulated sugar on top and use a kitchen torch to brûlée the sugar until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a deeper bourbon flavor, you can add a bit more bourbon to the filling.
  • Make sure to let the pie cool completely before adding the sugar topping.
