Cherry Amaretto Tiramisu: An Indulgent Twist on a Classic Dessert

Cherry Amaretto Tiramisu

A luscious dessert that combines the rich flavors of cherry and amaretto with classic tiramisu.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 2 cups espresso, cooled
  • 12 ladyfinger cookies
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and sugar. Mix until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Add the chopped cherries and amaretto to the mixture and gently combine.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso and layer them in a dish.
  5. Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  6. Repeat the layers until ingredients are used up, ending with a mascarpone layer on top.
  7. Dust the top with cocoa powder.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute amaretto with almond extract.
  • Letting the tiramisu sit overnight enhances the flavors.
