  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
  3. Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
  4. Gradually add sugar, beating until glossy and stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold in vanilla extract.
  6. Spoon the meringue into a piping bag and pipe ghost shapes onto a baking sheet.
  7. Use chocolate chips for eyes.
  8. Bake for 1-2 hours until dry.
  9. Turn off the oven and let meringues cool inside for best results.

Notes
