- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
- ⅓ cup red food coloring
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the butter and mix until crumbly. Then add the eggs, vanilla, milk, and red food coloring, mixing until smooth.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 of the way full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cupcakes completely before decorating.
Notes
- For the ‘blood’ effect, use chocolate syrup on top of the cooled cupcakes.
- Adding gummy fangs or teeth can enhance the spooky appeal.
