One Pot Shawarma Chicken And Rice

A delicious and easy one-pot dish that brings the flavors of shawarma chicken to your family dinner.

  • 1 tablespoon shawarma spice mix
  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and bell pepper, sautéing until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic and shawarma spice mix, cooking until fragrant.
  4. Add chicken thighs and brown on both sides.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  6. Stir in jasmine rice, cover, and reduce heat to low.
  7. Cook for about 20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
