Spiced Apple Cider Donut Loaf with a Cinnamon Sugar Crust

A delicious spiced apple cider donut loaf topped with a sweet cinnamon sugar crust.

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a saucepan, boil the apple cider until reduced to about 1/4 cup. Let cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, cooled apple cider, and vanilla extract to the mixture; mix until combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar on top.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add chopped apples to the batter.
  • Serve warm for the best taste.
